Around 200 Norwegian companies were registered in China in May 2005.

The export from January to June 2006 was 10.25 billion dollars. This is an increase
of 20.2% compared to the same period in 2005. The last 5 years the Norwegian export
to China has increased by 149%

China is one of Norway's most important export markets for seafood:

The growing consumption in China and import of high quality Norwegian salmon is
remarkable. Norwegian seafood exporting companies also supply a growing volume of
frozen fish as raw material to many Chinese processing companies.

Norway has since the beginning of the 90s been very active
in the Chinese market for environmental protection:

It has mostly been projects related to waste water treatment, salt water treatment,
bag house filtering of silica and flying ashes, surveillance of air and water pollution
in several cities and provinces.

At the moment 700 Chinese students are studying in Norway and around 100 Norwegian
students in China.
