The Chinese toy manufacturing company China Topwin Industry Company, Ltd. has broken new ground in the narrow but popular field of remote-controlled (RC) toy cars by launching the first production model attached with a first-person view (FPV) camera. Formerly a field exclusive to diehard RC geeks with their own homemade workshops, China Topwin's TPCT-1610 model makes the FPV technology available to the rank-and-file remote-control fanatic, as well as kids of all ages.
The new China Topwin model has already seen its share of international toy fairs – including the Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing Toys & Games Fairs in China and the Nuremberg International Toy Fair in Germany – and everywhere it has gone, it has won both critical and public acclaim. The Topwin FPV car aims at giving the "driver" as close to a real sense of driving as possible, by providing the RC handler with a wireless headset with an LCD display directly linked to the camera mounted on the model.
As a little side bonus the headset can also be hooked up to most TV sets allowing a person to walk around the house, whilst still watching TV. A tad dangerous? Very likely. Fairly innovative? Yes indeed. China Topwin is nothing if not dedicated to its particular niche of toy manufacturing and since the 2002 founding the Shenzhen-based company has grown a solid reputation for being one of the more enthusiastic and creatively experimenting players in the business of remote-controlled toys and leisure articles. What's next? Only China Topwin's R&D department knows. But one thing is certain: It's going to be something new and exciting.
