  • About wooden puppet---
    In order to preserve our traditional culture and revive the Chinese opera, we have imitated many famous opera performers. The costumes of the puppets are going though a thousand processes, whose costumes, painting, make-up are all make by hand using the traditional method.

    All The woodwork was beautifully carved, and carefully finished by Jiang Xiao, who is the general director of the woodcarving council and had won the gold medal of woodcarving.

    Costumes Are designed by the national first class fashion designer- Ye Wei Zao of the Shanghai Peking Opera, Kun Opera.

    Headdress Showed the skillful technique of Dian cui (by using the feather of kingfishers to stick on the jewelry), which is nearly lost.

    About Fifteen Strings of Coins---
    It is the classical play in Kun Opera, edited from the novel Two Bears Dream in Qing Dynasty. The opera was set in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Lou Ashu, a rascal

    from Wuxi County, killed the butcher You Hulu and took his 15 strings of coins. Without investigation, the county magistrate, Guo Yuzhi, concludes that Xiong Youlan and Su Shujuan were the murderers. Before they were executed, Kuang Zhong, the Suzhou governor, disguised as fortuneteller to find the truth of a murder. Xiong and Su were innocent.
